I began to work on this drawing convinced that the subject was a Rosehip, but then someone told me it was actually a Cherry blossom. Whatever it is, surely it is a flower that it caught my eye.
When I found the original photograph I was in awe at the light, the transparency and the shades at the background. The photographer must have felt the same way I did when they took the picture.
To draw this particular subject I used soft pencils, they're the only ones that really help me achieve the result I'm after when it comes to luminance.
It took me two months to complete this artwork, as well as a lot of softness of hand.
I chose “Whiff of Light” as a title because this is the kind of idea this subject brings to mind, a light that radiates like a soft whiff.

Ho iniziato a lavorare a questo disegno con la convinzione che si trattasse di una rosa canina ma poi mi è stato detto che è un fiore di ciliegio. Non so chi ha ragione ma di certo è un fiore che ha attirato la mia attenzione.
Quando ho trovato l'immagine sono stata colpita dalla luce, dalle trasparenze e dallo sfocato sul fondo, di sicuro chi ha scattato la foto deve aver provato le mie stesse sensazioni.
Per realizzarlo ho usato delle matite soft, sono le uniche con le quali riesco ad ottenere il risultato desiderato quando si tratta di effetti luminosi.
Ci sono voluti due mesi per completare l'opera e tanta delicatezza per una mano il più possibile leggera.
Ho scelto “Soffio di Luce” come titolo perché è questo che a me sembra, una luce che si irradia come un soffio leggero.
