Petali di Cielo


It was the middle of the Summer when I got started on this drawing.

I wasn't aware of the existence of a variety of light blue daisies called “Blue Daisy”. I found those really appealing for their effortless beauty so much that I started drawing them right away and with great pleasure. These flowers, other than being a joy to look at, allowed me

To finally explore the tones of blue, which rarely happens in depicting these flowers. The drawing title itself, given the cerulean colors of this flower's beautiful petals.


Era piena estate quando iniziai a lavorare al mio nuovo disegno.

Non sapevo esistesse una varietà di margherite azzurre, chiamate "Blue Daisy", che ho trovato attraenti per la loro semplice bellezza, tanto che ho preso a disegnarle con piacere. Queste oltre a trasmettermi grande allegria mi permettevano finalmente di utilizzare le mie matite nelle tonalità del blu, che raramente vengono usate sui soggetti floreali.

Mi è venuto spontaneo scegliere il titolo per il colore ceruleo dei suoi petali.

It all started when my mom passed away.


I was on a break from my work in theatres and not going through a very serene period.


One day my son Nazareno said that he had spare sketchbook that his art teacher told him was no longer needed for school projects, so he asked if I wanted to use it.


I thought I could have used it to sketch scenographies for work so I simply tucked it in a cupboard. After some time I opened the same cupboard again and saw that very sketchbook next to my precious Caran d'Ache pencils and … that's when I thought of drawing something. Yes but, what to draw then?
