My Drawings in...
Vi voglio raccontare come è accaduto che abbia avuto l'onore di finire su una nota rivista americana, dedicata agli artisti che usano la tecnica delle matite colorate. Era la fine di Febbraio 2020, (anno che resterà ormai segnato per sempre nella storia e non di certo per questa mia esperienza), quando sono stata contattata da Sally Robertson, direttrice della rivista Colored Pencil Magazine, della Carolina del Nord, Stati Uniti d'America.

I would like to tell you about how I lucky enough to have the honor to be featured on a popular American magazine dedicate to artists who make colored pencil artworks. It was the tail end of February 2020, a year that will go down in history for reasons much different from what I'm detailing), when I was contacted by Sally Robertson, editor-in-chief of Colored Pencil Magazine based in North Carolina, USA.
Nella email d'invito mi veniva scritto che attraverso una ricerca in internet, al fine di “scovare” talenti della matita colorata nel mondo, la loro attenzione era ricaduta sui miei disegni e che ne erano rimasti talmente affascinati che volevano non soltanto dedicarmi un articolo di ben quattro pagine, ma addirittura la copertina del numero di Giugno!

In her email Sally told me about how through an internet search to scope out new colored pencil talents in the world, her attention and the team's was captured by my drawing and that they were so fascinated by them that they wanted to dedicate me a four page article as well as have me featured in the front cover of the June issue!
Dopo una prima reazione di incredulità – sembrava troppo bello per essere vero – sono rimasta sorpresa da quanta professionalità, passione e dedizione c'è dentro Colored Pencil Magazine. Sally mi ha raccontato della rivista, inviandomi numeri precedenti, link e tutto quanto potesse farmi capire l'importanza di questo Magazine, tanto che sono stata travolta da una grande emozione.

After an initial moment of disbelief because of how good it all sounded, I was very pleasantly surprised by how professional, passionate and dedicated the people at Colored Pencil Magazine are.Sally told me about their magazine, encouraging me to have a look at previous issues, providing me with links and everything else there was to show, in order for me to understand the importance of this magazine, so much so that I felt greatly emotional.
Tra me e lei ci sono stati molti scambi d'informazioni, avvenuti sempre con affettuosa cordialità, per come redigere l'articolo e scegliere le foto dei miei disegni. Poi arrivarono le drammatiche notizie legate al Covid-19 e il mondo si chiuse in casa.Sally è stata sempre molto premurosa nell'informarsi sulla mia salute e quella della mia famiglia, ma anche nel mostrare tutto il suo affetto per la nostra Italia. In quei giorni pareva impossibile che potessimo lavorare ad un argomento così lieve e piacevole come l'arte del disegno. La vita però deve comunque andare avanti ed è assai importante elargire quanto più è possibile Bellezza; ecco perché gli artisti non si fermano mai, ecco perché lo spettacolo deve continuare. Noi abbiamo il compito e la responsabilità di mostrare a noi stessi e al mondo tutta la bellezza di cui siamo capaci, per donare a tutti una buona emozione, un sorriso o un pensiero e magari, chissà, una speranza.

There have been many email and information exchanges between Sally and I to discuss what was going to be featured in the article, and they were always very cordial and friendly.Sadly, heartbreaking news about the breakout of the Covid-19 took the world by storm and the entire world went into lockdown. Sally has always been very caring in making sure my family and I stayed safe and she even showed sympathy for the rough situation in Italy, our country. During those days it seemed impossible to be able to work on such a light and pleasant project. Life, however, has to go on anyway and it's very important to spread Beauty as much as possible; that's precisely why artists will never stop creating, why the show must go on. We have the duty to show ourselves and the world all the beauty that we are capable of creating, to give everyone positive emotions, a smile or a thought or perhaps even hope.
E' stata davvero una grande emozione vedere una mia opera su una rivista d'arte e a tal proposito vorrei consigliare a tutti i miei amici artisti di usare bene il web perché è una finestra sul mondo davvero molto, molto importante, ma soprattutto di metterci sempre il Cuore in quello che si fa, perché è lui che attira l'attenzione più che il nostro virtuosismo.

It's been very emotional seeing one of my artworks on an art magazine and by the way, I would like to encourage all my artist friends to use the web for the good because it really is a rather impactful aperture on the world, but most importantly I would like to encourage them to put their Heart in what they do, because that's what attracts attention more than our mastery.
